Malcolm Alderton entered the Jewelry Industry as an apprentice watchmaker in 1963, purchasing his own retail jewelry store in 1973, which he owned until 1988. ARMS was established in 1983 after Malcolm realized that he - like all other retailers - needed help to gain total control of his business in order to improve profitability. Consequently, he designed specifications for a software package that supported the just-in-time principle of stock management. Since then, Malcolm has continued to apply his business management experiences to software development ideas, leading to and maintaining ARMS’ position as the world’s premier software package for the business development of Jewelry Stores. ARMS continues to grow and develop and now extensively markets Business Development Systems to the jewelry industry in USA, Canada, Caribbean, Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Singapore, London, Malaysia and the Bahamas.
For the past three decades, as a Business Development Consultant and Educator, Malcolm has advised owners of hundreds of quality jewelry stores on business development issues relating to stock, staff, cash flow, expansion and multi-generations working together. Since 1989 Malcolm has also lectured regularly at various business workshops, conferences, jewelry industry meetings and ARMS Business Development Congresses and Courses. Malcolm is results-driven. He gives ARMS clients the focus, clarity and inspiration they need to develop their businesses and enhance their quality of life and that of their families and the staff they employ.
Director of Global Sales
Rodney joined the ARMS Team in June of 2007. Rodney brings a strong set of technical and training abilities to the table. He started in Client Services and quickly moved up to onsite installation and training. Rodney has installed and trained on the ARMS System all over the world. Most recently Rodney has continued his growth within the company and is currently the USA Sales manager. With his solid understanding of the ARMS program and the experience gained by installing and training on the system in a wide range of stores, Rodney is an excellent resource. Rodney can help jewelers to use the ARMS System to overcome any challenge facing their business. In his free time Rodney spends time with his family, enjoys snowboarding and sushi and taking care of his dog.

Eric has a passion for helping people and has transferred that to his work as a coach with ARMS. He has been in various areas of the industry since 1972, and currently still has his jewelry store which he opened in 1984. Employing the ARMS theories has allowed Eric to pursue his passion and still have a store. Melissa's experience spans over ten years in continuing jewelry education from a trade association perspective. Her experiences include face to face training, distance education training and development of continuing education programs. Melissa has also worked in retail jewelry sales and management. Melissa is a Graduate Gemologist from GIA and studies communications. Melissa enjoys exploring new places and spending time with her friends and family.
Director of Client Services/Global System Administration Manager
Paul joined the ARMS Client Services team in December 2002 bringing with him previous experience in the computer and networking industry. Paul graduated from the University of Texas in San Antonio with a Bachelor of Science degree in the field of Mathematics. He has earned Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer certification and Cisco Certified Network Associate certification. Paul continues to seek higher certifications to stay up to date with today’s technology standards.
Client Services Consultant
Maria joined our team in November, 2006 in the Client Services division and brings over ten years experience in the IT field, most notably in the Help Desk and Database programming fields. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology. Contributions to previous employers included an instruction manual program, database development and Maria was also fundamentally responsible for implementing many technical projects. Maria enjoys travel and spending time with her husband and their three retrievers.
Client Services Consultant
Rudy Calzada joined the ARMS Client Services team in June, 2007. He brings 13 years of experience in the IT Field as a Computer Technician, Service Manager for VAR and for the past five years as a Help Desk Technician.
Marketing and Administration Manager
Carolyn Line brought a wealth of marketing knowledge with her when she joined the ARMS team in December 1995. Her background as a journalist and her extensive knowledge of the media industry has been invaluable for building market awareness of ARMS, as well as creating product information for distribution. During her time with ARMS, Carolyn has displayed strong leadership skills and accounting abilities, which led to her promotion to the dual position of Marketing and Administration Manager for Australia. Carolyn works closely with all departments of the company including the Client Services and Business Development teams. This, combined with her many years of experience with ARMS and professional attitude, makes her a perfect choice to step into the role of Australian Office Manager when Malcolm and Margaret travel to ARMS international offices. Away from the office, Carolyn loves spending time with her son Josh and indulging in her passion of riding her horses in polocrosse competitions around Australia.
Cheryl joined the ARMS team as our new Accounts Administrator in 2010. Prior senior administration appointments include the Taxation Office, St George Bank, Pre Schools, Small Business Franchises, Alcan Mining Projects, The Courier Mail and Cheryl’s family owned holiday resort business.
Client Services Consultant
Zac joined the ARMS Client Services team in 2007. After more than eight years in Bosnia-Herzegovina Telecommunications & IT Departments, Zac moved to Australia and worked as a Telecommunications Officer for five years. He then spent a year working in the IT field in Canada to further his experience. Zac relocated to Australia, completed a Microsoft Approved Network Management Course and Network Engineering Diploma at TAFE, while working four years as a Broadband Support Officer. His “can do” attitude is as popular with clients as it is with the entire ARMS team.
Application Software Support
Jeanette joined the ARMS Client Services team in March 2015. Jeanette had worked for over 20 years at a software house implementing software, hardware solutions, training and running IT Helpdesks for large retail chains and hospitality industry. During this time she specialised in application software support from POS to stock control and financials.
Client Services Consultant
Mark joined ARMS in 2013 as part of the Client Services team. Since completing a Bachelor’s Degree in I.T., Mark has spent many years combining programming and client support roles in numerous organisations, from multinationals like Kellogg and Bankers Trust down to his most recent position where he spent 10 years programming and supporting software for the childcare industry, dealing with the various levels in small businesses and the Australian Government. Mark has recently taken on the responsibility for Data Migrations. Away from ARMS, Mark is enough of a masochist that he actually enjoys hitting a little white ball around a golf course.

Ian is a Microsoft Certified Application Developer (MCAD) who has over 20 years experience in the software development industry and has developed many diverse business applications for numerous private and governmental organisations. His passion is implementing the latest technologies into his work.
