There is a 3-step formula that I sometimes like to use that makes it a no brainer for your best customers to covert into your best referrers.

The very first thing you need to do is to create a solid follow up process for your new customers. Now, if you already have this in place, it will make this 3 step formula go even smoother.

Step 1: Find out what your customer likes about their recent purchase so far. This should be done within a 30 day window. Most often I like to do it between day 14 and 20. That gives the customer enough time to use and enjoy their purchase or service.

When I follow up with them I ask them only 1 question; What do you love about your purchase so far? I don’t ask if they love it or what they think about the product or service, I ask them “What” they are specifically loving about it.

If you give your customers the right questions, they will give you the right answers. If you ask them “what” they love they will tell you “what” they love. And this is where you take your notes and flow into step 2.

Step 2: Next, is to ask them if they would like to know how to get a free gift, a promo, a discount or whatever type of teaser you like to use, every single month. Move into step 3.

Step 3. Now, share with your customer how they are going to get the promo, which would be by them sharing their experience with friends and family. Help them with a guide and a process to convert those friends and family members into customers. Of course, you will have your own rules and guidelines for receiving the monthly promo as well.

Depending on what your product is, you can help your customer with their social media exposure for promoting your brand. Offer them free social media post templates, videos, images, anything that helps promote your goods.
